Mercedes Mengíbar has been named Chief Executive Officer of the Xanit International Hospital, being the Costa del Sol most advanced technological private Hospital, located in Benalmádena, with a satellite clinic in Fuengirola. Mercedes Mengíbar’s objective as newly named CEO and General Manager, is to re-direct the Xanit project and make it become a reference among private healthcare centers in Málaga.
She has had the opportunity to develop her career in both private and public healthcare entities. In 1993, she was named Head Administrator of General Services in the Vírgen del Rocío Hospital of Sevilla and in 1998 she developed, as General Manager of the Antequera Hospital, a project on strategic orientation and introduced there a new organizational culture. In 2003 she started to work as General Manager of the USP Marbella Hospital till today when she has decided to head on for a change in her professional career and accepted this new challenge.
She specialized in Healthcare Management, is an Organizational Psychology graduate and has been awarded with two Masters, one in Human Resources Management by the Sevilla University and one in Healthcare Economics and Healthcare Entities Management by the Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública and the Granada University.
Mercedes Mengíbar has been participating for years in healthcare hospital organizational change processes as General Manager, and considers that project success is directly linked to people’s implication with it. “I am convinced that with the help of all our Hospital team, we will achieve our objective to convert Xanit into a healthcare reference” says the Hospital General Manager, asserting that staff implication together with the most advanced technology shall be the two key assets of Xanit project success.
